GreenBy3’s Impact on the Environment

GreenBy3 maintains a focus on sustainability and helping our environment.

We reclaim building materials from contractors and various sources then store them so they can be used on our clients’ projects and in the community. This not only adds character to a project and helps our community; it also reduces the impact on our landfills and cuts down on landfill fees for contractors and builders.

In keeping with the GreenBy3’s value of community involvement and service, we often donates building materials when homeowners, organizations or businesses cannot afford needed changes due to the cost of materials.

Examples of materials that have been reclaimed and reused:

Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment – GreenBy3 reclaimed more than 12,000 square feet of Class-A demountable office wall systems, raised flooring and electrical/data boxes. These materials were headed for the landfill, but are now being reused for three clients in North and South Carolina: PeopleMatter, Biz611 and Crisis Ministries.

Bricks – Nearly 10,000 bricks were reclaimed during the deconstruction of two buildings where Biz611 will be built. The older brick will be used on the street-facing side of Biz611, blending the more contemporary structure into the historic streetscape.

Building materials – GreenBy3 continues to reclaim residential and commercial building materials such as lumber, windows, doors and steel. GreenBy3 donated building materials to Centro de Restaurcion Cristiano Ministerio God of the Prophecy, a small Hispanic church in Summerville. Leaders of the church realized the building was riddled with termites but did not have the funds to cover extensive repairs needed. GreenBy3 donated reclaimed lumber to construct a worship center for the congregation to use while they raised money and made necessary repairs to their church building. GreenBy3 also made energy improvements so the new structure would operate efficiently and keep utility bills low.

If you have used or excess building materials you would like to recycle rather than dispose of yourself, contact us today.
